THE College PATHWAY
- Following the College Pathway gives the counselor and college-bound senior the ability to quickly and easily assemble, view and compare comprehensive college datasets. These datasets comprise a range of powerful visualizations which help decrease the time and effort needed to identify the best fit for a student among their list of preliminary choices, provide an overview of graduating seniors' application outcomes, and use years of college admission outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of the school's primary educational initiatives.
- Advantage Point features multi-level college search tools. The first level guides students to search from a set of summary-level criteria reflecting their initial preferences for location, size, type of school, and field of interest. This criteria-based selection process broadens the student's options well beyond his or her original list. Once the preliminary college list is compiled from these preferences, the tool can branch to detailed comparisons of these primary college choices based on reported selectivity measures, outcomes, pricing, and financial aid. This level of detailed comparison enables students to better refine and finalize their ultimate college list.
- Advantage Point provides a set of graphic tools to compare application choices of current students with those of previous graduating classes by using reported institutional metrics for acceptance rates, relative costs, financial aid, cumulative debt and completion outcomes. This provides a more focused insight into college selection patterns for graduating classes at the high school.
